Porsche 986 engine parts

Porsche Boxster 986 1996 - 1999 2.5L (2,480 cc)

In 1996 Porsche released the all new Boxster, this mid engine sports car was powered by a 2.5 litre boxer engine, based on the all new water cooled 996 Carrera 3.4 motor, the boxter engine was a smaller capacity achieved by reducing the bore size and stroke from Ø 96mm x 78mm down to Ø 85.5mm x 72mm. Produced from 1996 to 1999 this entry level engine produced 204 PS and 245 N-m or 201 BPH and 181 lbft, this made for good performance powering the all new model from 0-60 mph in 6.7 seconds and onto a top speed of 149mph. It's now over 26 years since the first models were produced, this is sure to become a future classic making this a great time to buy either a restoration project, track day car or a concourse example.

We are currently putting together an inventory of parts to restore and rebuild both modern and classic Porsche engines, we only use quality parts sourced from the same component manufacturers that Porsche themselves trust to engineer components for their engines, in this section you will find parts to suit the Boxster M96.20 2480cc motor.
